Gott nytt.

Dear Friends. Just like Johnny I also wanted to sum up 09 for us all with a few words. Even though he beat me to it. I'm just not able to keep up with him sometimes.
When I look back on year nine I quickly realize it carried a lot for all of us. While the world might remember this year as a year of financial crisis or the year Obama became president, I will always think of it as the year when we released SONGS FOR THE FALLEN APART. Our best album to date by far. To the sound of both fantastic and horrific reviews we released our new baby into first Scandinavia and then Mainland Europe. And we did the greatest tours we ever done this year. And grew a lot more confident in our own ability. For me, the best shows were this springs outdoor headline gig at the Get-A-Gig Festival in our native Karlstad, the Peace And Love show in 28 degree heat and the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg. All very different but equally fabulous.

On a personal level it has been a year of change during these last months. Sometimes hard to adapt to and sometimes the kind of change that makes you wanna dive into it, head first, without thinking twice. I wanna thank my brothers Anders, Oskar and Johnny for all we did this year.
For 2010 I will try to write more and drink less. What are your promises?
XO ANTON

Happy New Year!

We want to wish you a happy new year and thank you for twelve great months filled with awesome shows and the release of "Songs For The Fallen Apart"

1010 will bring much I hope, I´ll bet it wont take to long before we get out on the road again.
By the way we just finished yet another demo on a new song, I like it much and it is something between Phantom Of The Opera and Dirty Harry.

Happy New Year // Johnny!

list of a decade

At the end of every year it's kind a tradition to make a top 10 list of "records of the year". But this time me and my friends are gonna make it over the whole decade, and now I'm sitting here... having a hard time remembering and seed all great albums.
I have decide to only choose one album per artist/band to make it a little more exciting. The ones I have come up with so far is: the strokes, glasvegas, håkan hellström, kent, arctic monkeys. razorlight, the killers and kings of leon.

Feel free to help me remember...

Back home

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Hope y'all have had a great Christmas. I just got back home from Värmland, where I have spent my Christmas with family and friends. I'm really really really tired right now. It's always fun to be in Värmland, especially when all your friend from the old days also are there. The rest of the boys in the band are coming back on Monday. Then we will get back to working on our new album again. Can't wait... //Oskar

poem

Put your issues on probation
Run your problems off the track
Throw your worries out your window
Get that monkey off your back
Silence all your inner critics
With your own conscience make amends
Allow yourself some happiness

Flashback

I just found this photo from last time we were in Berlin. I had almost forgot about it. We stood outside a photo machine in the middle of the night in Berlin and everything was so intense. Suddenly Johan screams to us that we have to squeeze us in the machine all at once! And the result is this great picture. //Oskar

Blog schedule

We know that we had our ups and downs when it comes to this blog, to avoid this in the future we created a blog schedule last week. So far it has worked perfectly except Oskar forgot his day and then Anton forgot his, but we're getting there. I think...
Tomorrow we're going to see our record label here in Stockholm and have a meeting about album number 3. Talk about producers and stuff like that.
We'll keep you updated. Today Stockholm looks like this...

Natten går tunga fjät...

Today we are recording two new songs. The problem is the three of us who sing in this band are so hung over I am not sure if I'm gonna be able to teach Anders and Johnny the lyrics I've written. Anders hosted a spectacular event at Östermalm last night you see. Also Oskar hasn't bothered to show up yet so this production day has come to a bit of a halt.

Oh, remember this?

We're thinking of doing a Christmas song for ya'll this year. Which song would you like us to do?

Made In Spain

Last week the four of us spend two hours cleaning our rehearsal. It's now shining and smells like flowers. The reason why I tell you this is because when doing this I found an old CD thrown in the middle of Johnnys old drumkit. When we put it in the stereo for a listening we were all surprised about the techno beat that filled up the room. Don't know how many of you who remembers (we had forgotten) but a British guy called Cat Burglar made a remix of Made in Spain a couple of years ago. You can listen to it on his myspace site here.

Pete represent

We have just had i Friday night rehearsal. It's something special about rehearsing on weekend nights. There is a kind of vibe in the air witch doesn't exist when you play during the weeks. Some of us had planned to go to see Pete Doherty at Debaser after the rehearsal but he did what he does best - Cancelled the show. This time it was because of "transport problems"... That's "cookie talk" as Cosmo Kramer would have said. Well well, at least we haven't cancelled any shows yet and we are planning to keep it that way.

Teaser

What is going on? Why am I in a weelchair? You will see soon enough. Interesting things are happening.

Today I got a mail from a swedish magazine called veckorevyn who asked me to judge outfits in their Valentines Day issue. Maybe this is beacuase of our song "Valentines Day", I don't know. I was a bit flattered that they would let me rule judgement over peoples way to dress. Did they perhaps think of me as kind of a fashion guru? Tempting thought indeed. But I had to tell them no in the end. I'm a musician. It's not my place to say yay or nay.

Record of the day for Anton (I) is Neon Bible by Arcade Fire. Fantastic!

faster than the speed of night

We should write here more often. Once a day at least. Or do you want this to be more of a news feed? I attended music industry meetings today. It's fun plus it gives you free lunch at restaurant paid by publisher! Try it. Carl visited us in rehearsal. We tried to get him to take home the Spf guitar but he didn't want it. I will now sell it on ebay and make mucho dinero.

This is the only record I listen to these days. Go Bonnie!

Home sweet home

Ladies and gentlemen. We are back home. Tour is over for this time around. It feels so weird. I've been around the guys for 24 h a day for almost a month. And now it's just quiet. This happens always after a long run like this, 20 shows in 22 days, but you never really get used to it. But let me tell you some of the stuff we've been up to in the last days.

We had such a great night in Berlin. Best show of the tour. Thanks to everyone of you who came around. The afterparty lasted til 6 am in the rowdy halls of White Trash Fast Food. Pumpkin throwing and table dancing among other deeds. And the next day in Kassel we squeesed the last drops of energy out of our bodies. Great crowd, great show aswell. Roadie Anton Toorell joined on additional lead guitar when The Luck You Got turned into a guitar battle in the encore.

A thing I've been really happy about is to see so many more men on the shows this time around. The crowd is now almost 50/50 genderwise. It's no secret we were very tired of only attracting a young female audience. And to see this changing in front of your weary eyes is a great feeling. Don't get me wrong now, we love our whole audience, girls and boys, men and women, elders and youngsters, but a diverse crowd is the best.

Anowho... On the way back, after 10 000 km of road, with 2 little hours left we were pulled over by civilian police. They weighed us and checked everything about everything. And apparently we were 46% to heavy. This meant fines of 1000 a pop. It's great that the swedish law enforcement shows such dedication catching villians and vigilantes on a sunday night. Makes me sleep well at night.

Now we're gonna have a little one week vacation. Then we are gonna kick start something really exciting. Production rehearsals kids!

Live blog from Munich

Thank you everybody for tonight. It was a blast I have to say. Hot stage(even I got sweat drops in my face), dancing, amplifiers on 11, screaming and shouting. This is what it's all about and I don't like it at all....I love it!!

59-1 Tonight!

First I really have to say that I´m sorry that we didn't had more time in Vienna, then we would have visited one of the occupied university, we support you students!

4 gigs to go and as you know we are now in Munich at 59-1, on the way here we watched Top Gun on the TV (once again) mean while Oskar was at the wheel trying to give him self the biggest sugar rush ever. I think tonight is gonna be good one, it´s a great sound in here and already some swedes turned to watch the show.

First snow

We are in Vienna right now. Had a great show at this place called Chelsea witch is situated under the railways tracks for the metro. After the show a couple of beers went down our throats with some Austrian dudes. Vienna really represented from her good side. Well almost anyway. We woke up an hour ago with snow outside our window! SNOW!? Let's hope there will be snowball showdown on the way to Munich today. The bus is departing in five minutes, see you at 59:1 tonight! //MJ

Oy!
2 weeks of carrying amps and drums, 5000km in the car, late nights, 15 shows... Yes it felt good with a day at the spa.
Yesterday i went to bed at 10 instead of 4, I slept like a baby after a hot sauna and steambath. Regensburg you make me relax and i like to visit you again.
Today we´re heading to Wienna wich we ofcourse look forward to, last time we played there it was a real blast. Oskar really wants to climb all the way up on Grossglockner but unfortunately we dont have the time.

See you tonight

Kaiserslautern and Halloween.

We are in Kaiserslautern right now. Soundcheck is done and we are soon our way to finaly have Mexican food. Me and Johnny have waited for Mexican food since day one on this tour. We took a little trip the central parts of Kaiserslautern earlier on. They had some kind of Halloween parade and the streets were full of Germans dressed up in all kinds of different Halloween costumes. Samba batteries played all over the streets and the mood was on top among the citizens of Kaiserslautern. We got a quite inspired of the festivities so we will see what will happen on stage tonight. Well, food is waiting so I'll have to go.

I miss my Ipod

Since last time anyone of us wrote here we've been playing Frankfurt, Hamburg and Bremen. Today it's time for Köln and the Underground Club. We have now really got in to the loop and the days are flying by. Soon it's just a week left. After the show in Hamburg we had (as always) a big party that ended up with me spending two hours at the famous Polizei Station in Hamburg. Kind of a party killer if you ask me and especially for the other guys who spend two hours waiting outside the polizei station. But you don't have to worry, the reason why I had to be there was not because of me behaving bad no, it was because of a thief that stole my bag with my Ipod, passport and a lot more. It really sucks.
The day after the Police gave me a call and told me the they found my passport outside the employment service, so maybe the thief spend my money wisely by getting his hair cut and buy a new suit and then try to get a job. I like to think so...

Early Bird

Woke up this morning and thought that it was time to get up. So I flew up from bed and said to Johan that the breakfast at the hotel will be closed in 20 minutes. Then i realised that I hadn't turned back the clock to winter time last Sunday. But instead of going back to bed I washed my self really carefully, organised everything in my suitcase and went down and had the best breakfast on this tour so far. And now I'm sitting here and listening to Bon Iver and enjoying this tour to 100%. We are back in Germany also. After 4 days in Switzerland it felt like coming home again when we entered the stage in Konstanz. The crowd was really up for it and we had a great time on stage. After we had a couple of beers in the backstage and listened to Joncha and the promoter explaining the greatness in Weezer. Then Anders, Anton and me went back to our hotel room witch has got like 6 different levels. I will take some pictures and show you later today. Johan and Joncha came back 5 or 6 in the morning. I don't know what they did but I heard rumours of 60s and 70s garage rock music and a dance floor. Now the boys are back from the breakfast so we are going up on the roof to take some pictures for you all. I will post it asap. //Oskar

Sightseeing

We actually had some free time to do what we wanted today. So went to Schaffhausen and had a look at "Der Rheinfall". The widest waterfall in Europe. It felt good to see something else than a rock club for once. But don't worry, it's just for today. Tomorrow we're gonna hit the road and continue our tour. Sleep tight! //Oskar

As the singer gains an hour...

Nine shows in nine days. I would lie if I didn't say I'm pretty beat. I need a free day. And guess what? We have one. And thanks to Anders I have one extra free hour since he forgot to change the clock and woke me up to earlier than anyone should have to wake upp. 9am :(

Tonights' Setlist

Fribourg

I am in Fribourg! Beautiful city in Switzerland. We have while in Fribourg; failed to check into our hotel for one hour, Walked on a hanging bridge over a a big river, petted donkeys, eaten swiss chocolate with hazelnuts, set the stage for tonights show. All this activity despite the fact that a few of us (including your humble writer) are majorly hung over from drinking a Absinthe (the real one) last night in Biel. It was fun then. Now it seems like a distant memory of another time and place. We have a french man with us and that has come handy since he can now easily communicate with the locals.

Yesterdays gig in Heidelberg was a real blast. The venue was totally packed and the Heidelbergers was trying their best to shout down Anton. When we ended the show with Friday I'm In Love I couldn't here Anton's voice at all because of the sing-along. Just like you want a concert to be. Big thanks to Santiago and the rest at Zum Teufel.

American highschool partiy and german bunkers.

I'm sitting and listening to Anton and Johan singing and playing "Going Up The Country" in the backstage right now. Classic song that is. We have just had some chinese food. Yesterday we where playing in a, what we thought from the beginning, student flat. Instead it was a huge appartment with aquariums and a big terrace with a view all over Bochum. We sat up ur gear in the living room and played all our fast songs. The place was packed at in felt just like we where in an American high school movie. The only things that was missing was american dudes and the red paper cups witch you drink your beer from. The floor in the livingroom was torn down to sticks and splinters after our gig. Then we drank beer from glass bottles and played füssball(Yes there was i füssball table in the apartment!), danced and met great people all night long. We filmed it all with our new camera. There is so much material that we haven't had time to ensemble a film of it yet but you will see footage from it in a near future. The thing we are talking about at this moment is the venue we are at today, Musikbuner in Aachen. It's a really strange one. It's an old german bunker from second world war. Long corridors concrete everywhere, steel doors and old school elevators witch you didn't thing existed now days.

Münster

We had a really good show i Hannover last night. Finaly we are up and running. 20 gigs to go and it feels great. After the show we listened to 80:s hits and drank different kinds of drinks. We felt a bit rough this morning but since it's so early on the tour we where back on track after a classic german breakfast. Tonight we gonna play at Amp Club in Münster. The stage is set and we had our dinner. Now it's just waiting and as allways it's worth every second. And for all of you in Münster I can tell that you are not gonna get dissapointed if you go down to Amp Club this evening. Stay tuned//Oskar

Hannover hangover...

... has not yet occured. But like a check in the mail it's bound to catch up with us sometime. Probably in the morning. We just soundchecked here at Café Glocksee. We're also trying our best to get friendly with our first supportband, Enno Burger. Their singer told me they sound like Marilyn Manson but I think he might be lying to me. A little nervous. First gig of the tour. Playing my new acoustic and trying to get Johnny to sing along. Always on my mind didn't do the trick. Maybe American girl will...

On the road again!

We have just arrived to Hamburg after driving the bus for 14 hours from Stockholm. It feels very good to finally start this tour which we have waited for since last time. And as usual when we hit the road all different kinds of things seems to happend all the time. So also today when Oskar opened the door from the bus and busted Anders forehead. Blood was decorating the tarmac as Anders went down to the ground. We got quite chocked at beginning and thought that maybe the tour had to be canceled. Luckyly we got Johan who taped together our wounded soilders forehead again. Anders is all right and will be able to do the tour. He does now look like a real badguy who doesn't back off anything. We are now gonna have a couple of beers in the city we love and then go to bed. Tomorrow we gonna start this tour for real! //MJ

Date change

Me at store opening party in Stockholm last week

We've changed the last date on the tour. The venue in Liepzig went out of business apparently. But quicker than a camera flash our german bookers got another show with a better deal instead. Wohoo!

We're in final preparations for the tour. The new stuff we're gonna use on stage works really well, the videocamera is charged, Dvd boxes have been picked out, Sega megadrive have been purchased off Ebay, clothes have been bought but not worn, songs have been sung that we have'nt played hardly ever before. New intro, new sets. There's a bit of electricity in the air right now.

Hope to see all of you on the road.

We have had some problems this week with setting up a setlist for the gig this weekend at the Reeperbahn festival. We have tried all different kinds of orders to play our songs on our tours and for this time we wanted to do something special witch we have not done before. So we decided to play all the songs from our new album in an order you are quite familiar with. Just grab your "Songs For The Fallen Apart" album and take a look at the back cover and you will see how our set list will look like in Hamburg.

Fall

The fall is coming. We noticed that last night when we rehearsed. The sky was pitch black and and you could only see the light from the cars outside the windows of our rehearsal. But we ain't stoping doing what we do because of that. New songs are coming up and the already existing ones are getting better and better. Next week we are going to Trollhättan to have a little concert. Feels good to come out and play when we are spending so much time in the rehearsal.
As as a warm up for the upcoming gig next week I'm going to see Håkan Hellström tonight at Gröna Lund. It has become a tradition for me to watch him at the end of the summer. I have put together a Spotify playlist witch his top 20 songs for you. If you want to listen just click HERE.

T-Minus One Day

Hey, it's Oskar! I'm sitting right now and trying to find out what kind of surprise I'm going to get tomorrow. Yes, you are right, it's my birthday on Wednesday. Most of all I vould celebrate this important day with a concert but unfortunatelly we couldn't fix that. Intstead we have to wait untill next Wednesday in Gothenburg. And then Anton will have had his birthday as well so it's probably gonna be a big celebration show for Anton and Me. I also found a picture from a couple of days ago when I found annother Oskar lookalike. Bonfires and watermelon

We had so great shows this weekend. We'd like to give a special shout out to Manuel for feeding us and showing us the ways of Barvaria: Bonfires and vodka-watermelon!

Insane heat at Magnet in Berlin on sunday. I did some very arty photography of urban invironment tourism as we went in to the city in our black car with tinted windows. Thunderclaps and lightning in the air. Great to see all of you there. The show was so great for me and all of us. We'll be back in autumn with our own production. It's gonna rock the party even further at the Bang Bang. 2 hours of sleep and then we were on the plane back to sweden. Johnny got left behind, hope you are ok dude!

Here's a picture from last weekend at Trädgården, another awsome show this summer. / Anton

Film Premier

Yesterday we went to the premier of the new swedish comedy "Scener Ur Ett Kändisskap", where "Paint The City Black" is the on the soundtrack. Free drinks and snacks before the film is always popular among the members of Molotov Jive. It felt a little weird to watch a film and suddenly they played our own song. After the film we went to the after party where more free drinks and food waited for us. A very nice evening I have to say. I can also tell you that Anders and Johan had a long night after our show at "Trädgården" in Stockholm. I can not tell you everything(We are saving some stories for out biography) but I can tell you that shoping carts, dancing, rosé wine outside in the dawn and stealing breakfast from the rich people are some parts of the story.

Live @ Trädgården Under Bron

New show boys and girls. We will play in Stockholm at the premiere of new club Trädgården under bron in Skanstull on Saturday. It's gonna be packed so get there on time. See yaa!

We're in a studio. Laying down some new songs. Oskar is playing a guitar so mean it's cutting through our ears like hot knives through butter. Anders and myself have fled into another room. Sweet internet. Our only refuge.
